The Aurora Towers series is composed of 9 towers, from 4 ft to 8 ft tall, with from three to six sides. The towers capture the pillars of light that are common in an auroral display. These towers can be displayed individually, in small groups of three, or five, or all nine. They can be grouped together, or spread out such that the viewer can walk amongst them. While these pieces were designed to be 3-D, they can also be mounted flat on a wall.
Recognizing that most people don’t have room for an array of towers or the wall space for a large corona, I created a limited series of small pieces that are extracts from the towers and corona. Each is signed and numbered as part of a series of 5 pieces.
Inside this gallery are an assortment of mostly embroidered pieces inspired by various things observed in the world and interpreted by me. There are also a few pieces in here of some of my other experimentation in the textile arts.
